They are oil based cakes and don’t require any fancy techniques or skills. They seem to be very forgiving so good to get the kids or novice cake makers involved. Sift in flour, bicarb, mixed spice. Mix then add orange zest, carrots and sultanas. Pour into oiled tin 10 x 6 inch and 1 inch deep tin (25.5 x 15 x 2.5cm). Bake at 170 C for 35 mins.
